Judah Folkman
Dr. Judah Folkman, once named "The Man Who Would Cure Cancer," passed away this past Monday. His work was controversial, but this Harvard Medical School researcher devoted much of his life to studying the relationship between blood vessels and cancer. Some of his research led to the development of angiogensis inihibitors (drugs that block new blood vessel formation) that are currently used in cancer treatment. You can read an article about the man and his work here.
